“Smashing Stereotypes One Hit at a Time!” This is the attitude of Quad Rugby, the fastest growing wheelchair sport in the world. Quad rugby is a full-contact, give-no-quarter game. The players' lives - their successes and trials on and off the court - are a continuous example of smashing stereotypes. The sport is about ability and competitive fire. It is a testament to the spirit of our great athletes, their humanity and will to succeed.
The Tucson PTERODACTYLS is a quad rugby team rooted in Tucson and part of the United States Quad Rugby Association. We have 9 current players with 4 of the players on the USA National team, 2 on the USA developmental team and 1 on the Argentinian National team.
Our goals as a team are to be a community resource, maintain a high level of competitive excellence and win a National championship! With the support from the community, we will be able to achieve our goals by establishing a training facility in Tucson, recruiting community members who are interested in an active lifestyle, and participating in competitions across the country. We have all worked very hard in our lives to overcome physical hardships. We are now asking for your support to help us fulfill our dreams
